The factory was founded by Claes Norstedt, the former director of the Iittala Glass Factory, who sold the factory to Riihimäen Lasi Oy as early as 1927. The factory continued as an independent subsidiary until in 1952, as the owner closed the factory some of the equipment and employees moved to Riihimäki.
